He had left the company 20 years ago.
After returning from World War II, he thought it would be a good time to open a store that sold baby carriages, cribs, and bassinets. He was starting his own family and felt many others would be doing the same.
Then he followed his instincts again in 1957, Lazarus started opening toy superstores including some of the biggest items of the day such as Barbie dolls, Slinkys and Hula Hoops.
