Runner Roger Bannister DEAD @ 88

He was the first runner to break a 4-minute mile in Oxford, England in 1954.

His achievement resonated with his English countrymen who were happy to have something to rally around in their post-World War II country.

Bannister completed his medical studies in June of 1954 at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London.
