Actor John Hillerman DEAD @ 84
He played the very stuffy Higgins across from the freewheeling Tom Selleck character detective Thomas Magnum in the TV series "Magnum, P.I." popular in the 1980's.
Also known for his role Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles," playing one of the many characters named Johnson. He was Howard Johnson. He made many appearances in a variety of TV shows including "Valerie," ''The Love Boat" and "The Betty White Show," and in films including "The Last Picture Show" and "High Plains Drifter."
