Author William H. Gass DEAD @ 93

His love of the arts and his artful use of language communicated with literary fans around the world from countries such as Germany and Russia.  Considered a serious writer whose masterful prose entertained a wide range of readers. 

For decades he was a professor of philosophy at Washington University in St. Louis (1969-99).
