Joe Osborn, Wrecking Crew Bassist, DEAD @ 81

Joe Osborn, a member of Los Angeles’ famed Wrecking Crew group of studio musicians.

While Osborn may not be a household to most, his expert bass work will be familiar to millions. There are hundreds of recordings
his bass riffs helped make those songs famous and big hits.  

His Wrecking Crew studio work began in the 60's with artists including Kenny Rogers, Rick Nelson, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, the Fifth Dimension, America, Simon and Garfunkel, the Mamas and the Papas, the Association, the Carpenters, the Grass Roots, the Monkees, Nancy Sinatra, the Turtles and countless others.

Later, in the mid 70's, Osborn left L.A. for Nashville, where he continued to be a prime studio bassist.  It is believed, he played on 53 #1 country hits.
