Former NASA Executive Nancy Grace Roman DEAD @ 93
She was know at NASA as the 'Mother of Hubble.'
Roman joined NASA in 1959 and for 20 years was the Chief of Astronomy at NASA HQ. She retired in 1979.
The Hubble Space Telescope project was a part of a groundbreaking program known as the Cosmic Background Explorer for which Roman pushed to support and fund.
Roman was also instrumental in supporting career opportunities for women through the American Association of University Women.
