Hall of Fame Umpire Doug Harvey DEAD @ 87

In baseball for 31 years Doug Harvey worked 4673 games, all National League.  

He was fifth on the list of the most all-time called games and was the third most for any umpire at the time of his retirement in 1992.  

At 19 Harvey took his dad's suggestion and began umpiring for in the Class C Sunset League.   After paying his dues in the minor leagues he eventually made it the majors.

Colleagues, players, managers alike all held him in the highest regard and greatly respected him and his work.
