Alan Bean, Astronaut and Moonwalker DEAD @ 86

The Apollo 12 astronaut was the fourth person to walk on the moon and the the lunar module pilot for the second moon-landing mission in November 1969.

He spent 31 hours on the moon's surface collecting 75 pounds of rocks and lunar soil that would be studied back on Earth.
Part of a very elite group, Bean was one of 5 moon-walkers, now 4, still alive— Buzz Aldrin, Dave Scott, Charlie Duke and Harrison Schmitt.
In 1973, after Apollo, Bean was commander of the second crewed flight to the United States' first space station, Skylab, . He set a world record on that mission, orbiting the Earth for 59 days and traveling 24.4 million miles.
