Former Pro Wrestler 'Dirty' Dick Slater DEAD @ 67

A popular wrestler, with the WWE and WCW in the 1980s and early 1990s and began his career in the 1970's in the south and mid-Atlantic regions of the country. . He also made appearances in Japan.

Slater was convicted of stabbing his then-girlfriend, Theresa Halbert six years after his retirement from wrestling.   He said he was under the influence of pain medications. He was sentenced to one year of house arrest and two years of probation.

He was born Richard Van Slater.
