A self-described “professional hillbilly.” 

A skilled fiddler, guitarist, banjo player. He was in numerous bands over time including the Lee Highway Boys, formed in the 1940s and performed on WTTG-TV (Channel 5) and on the Saturday morning radio show called the “Rural Round-Up” on WGAY-AM.
