LA Food Critic Jonathan Gold DEAD @ 57

Prominent food critic known for his Longtime work in the LA Times and LA Weekly. He wasn't known as a tough critic but a man who chronicled the food culture of Los Angeles.

He studied and knew a variety of cultures and the food and tastes they produced.

Beginning in 1986, Gold began writing about restaurants for the LA Weekly. His writing style was to seek out unique dishes and cuisines in a particular neighborhood and trough his writing explain the food in context.
