Glenn Branca Dead @ 69
Known as an avant-garde composer and guitarist
From Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and later moved to New York City. He formed the no wave band Theoretical Girls with Jeffrey Lohn. and released his first solo composition, Lesson No. 1, in 1980. His debut album was The Ascension.
Later he released Sonic Youth’s first two albums Sonic Youth and Confusion Is Sex on the label he founded Netural Records.
He went on to Branca to write symphonies that were performed in London and New York.
